CondAlign Launches TIM-Align100

TIM-Align100 is a 100 ยตm thick, high-performance thermally conductive and electrically isolating adhesive transfer tape. It is ideal to bond heat sinks to electronic components such as AI-processors and other CPUs, GPUs, LEDs and further heat generating components. The tape supports transferring the heat generated by the components to the heat sink more efficiently, thereby improving the performance and reliability of the electronic device.
TIM-Align100 shows an outstanding combination of the most important properties of a TIM:

Our unique alignment technology facilitates a strong reduction of filler content, allowing for additional properties:
- TIM-Align100 is acrylic based, contains no added silicone, and will show very low outgassing and no bleeding
- Our robust and scalable production process secures a wide variety of available formats at competitive prices
TIM-Align100 is the first product in our Thermal Interface Material (TIM) portfolio and is produced with the same technology as our E-Align products range. It is therefore a very cost competitive and sustainable alternative to comparable products. The CondAlign technology allows for excellent performances with very low filler contents. The TIM-Align100 shows a thermal impedance close to 1 K cmยฒ/W, with a minimum thermal conductivity of 1 W/m K, which are exceptionally good values for a thermal transfer tape.
Using thermal tape has several advantages over other types of thermal interface materials such as thermal paste or thermal grease. Some of the benefits are:
- Easy to apply: There is no need for special equipment or tools. It is as simple as peeling off the backing and pressing the tape onto the surface.
- Mess-free: Compared to thermal paste or grease, which can be messy and difficult to clean up, thermal tape is clean and easy to handle.
- Thin and lightweight: Thermal tape is thin and lightweight, which makes it ideal for applications where space is limited, or weight is a concern.
- Durable: Thermal tape is durable and provides a long-lasting and reliable thermal interface between two surfaces.
