Value Proposition
We turn existing materials into high value products by applying electric fields to align particles in polymers
CondAlign’s patented technology for producing conductive films with anisotropic properties has several advantages that are beneficial for novel products and applications.
Material Independent
For many conventional technologies used in production of anisotropic film materials, there are constraints regarding which materials to use as well as how to process it. The CondAlign technology is a material independent technology. This means several matrix materials like epoxy, silicone, polyurethane, acrylics and combinations of these can be used.
As an example; traditional anisotropic conductive films (ACFs) are made of epoxy and need heat and pressure during the bonding process. To simplify application, our anisotropic conductive and adhesive films do neither require heat nor extensive pressure to be applied.
Targeted Properties
We provide the freedom to choose from a broad range of compatible materials, allowing design of films with specific, targeted properties. Realizing anisotropic conductive films with the characteristics needed for the application, e.g., soft or hard, transparent or not, adhesive or not, and also stretchable.
Efficient Particle Utilization
Our technology can achieve electric conductivity with particle loadings far below the percolation threshold. This way, we accomplish conductive films with superior mechanical and optical properties like adhesiveness, softness and transparency.
We believe that our extremely efficient usage of conductive particles in our technology, can lead to considerable cost savings. Another important result from reduced particle loading is the retention of the materials’ initial properties, since the potential negative influence of high particle loading on the material properties is omitted.
Enabling Technology
Our technology is well suited for roll-to-roll production, which is a well-established, cost effective and flexible manufacturing process.
Together, the factors above make this an enabling technology, which allows for developing novel products and designs not possible with traditional materials.
